Highly sophisticated and fully equipped Physics, Chemistry and Biology labs provide an open environment for students to experiment and do research work. All these labs are provided with lecture/seminar area too. The three divisions of the science department ensure that students do real experiments. Our science labs are not just a rich storehouse of costly equipments and the latest gadgets on display.
They are fully equipped as per the guidelines laid by CBSE. These labs facilitate firsthand experience of learning different concepts of science and in developing scientific reasoning through experiments. This is in line with our philosophy of learning by doing.
They are workshops of practical experiment going far beyond the limits of prescribed syllabus. The teachers at the physics, chemistry and biology labs challenge them with exciting projects, giving them a strenuous time clashing with known principles and existing data. This is a place where the divine curiosity of students is at work.
PHYSICS LAB
City Public School is proud to have a sophisticated Physics Laboratory with the latest state-of-the art facilities that equip the students to have a hands on experience. The Flat-topped tables used as student workstations allow multiple arrangements and combinations for laboratory work and small-group activities. The equipment ranges from the commonly found lens, magnet, beam balance, spring balance, glass prism to the advanced apparatus like voltmeter, ammeter and resistors and spectrometers to name a few.
The laboratory is also equipped with an Interactive board and an LCD projector that allows the teachers to incorporate the latest technology in their lessons to arouse the interest and curiosity of the students. Furthermore, the spacious physics lab is designed in a way to accommodate students comfortably.
CHEMISTRY LAB
The laboratory is furnished with latest hi-tech interactive smart boards for a virtual real life learning experience.
The Lab is provided with the state- of- the art devices like- Fume hood, Distillation unit, Electronic weighing machine, Concealed gas line and the safety devices such as Firefighting equipment, First- Aid Kit etc. The acids and other reactive chemicals are stored in separate cupboards as a further precautionary measure. The students are provided with separate workstations with individual burners and plug points. The apparatus includes the commonplace strikers, mortar and pestle, clay triangles, watch glasses, crucibles, crucible tongs, chemical spoon, stirring rods, filter funnels and a variety of stoppers.
BIOLOGY LAB
In the biology lab, the students are tested their theoretical knowledge practically for its validity or truthfulness. In the Laboratory, students are given opportunity to learn by performing practical’s. Being a Science student they cannot do or learn without a laboratory.
Before the starts of the practical, students were given the knowledge of compound microscope i.e. parts of microscope and their uses and how to handle the microscope. While conducting experiments based on Ecology, Urine test etc, students are made to observe the ways of handling the glassware's and chemicals etc. students are instructed to perform the same experiment after I have conducted the experiment.
